Erin Thewes is our office manager and company secretary. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2015. Since joining the Ferdinand Farmers Insurance Team, Erin has become a licensed property and casualty insurance agent and is well-versed in all aspects of the business.

Erin has been a lifelong resident of Dubois County, growing up on her family’s farm just outside of Ferdinand. She now lives in Celestine with her husband, Damon, and their two children. Kurt Fleck

Kurt, his wife Stacy, and their three young children live in Ferdinand. With his associate's degree in agribusiness from Vincennes University, Kurt enjoys putting his education to work specializing in farm & crop insurance. In addition to his specialty, Kurt offers a variety of insurance, including homes, autos, and other farm insurance. Kurt grew up on a farm and still farms on his family’s farm in Ferdinand.

Gregg Kemper

After working more than 30 years in warehousing and logistics in different parts of the United States, Gregg decided to relocate back to Southern Indiana in 2024. Several of his family members have previously been a part of Ferdinand Farmers Insurance including his father, uncle, and grandfather. Gregg hopes to add to that legacy by bringing a dedication to excellent customer service to his role at the company. Gregg specializes in personal and commercial lines of insurance including homes, farms, auto and small commercial and contractor needs. He enjoys all aspects of being involved in the outdoors and has a passion for historical buildings and events.

Jeff Durlauf

Jeff is a graduate of Oakland City University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and education while playing baseball and earned two Division II All-American Awards.

Prior to his start at Ferdinand Farmers, Jeff spent the previous 14 years teaching at Forest Park and Heritage Hills High Schools. He is also an entrepreneur, having started his own business in 2013 called SIC Fitness.

Jeff not only brings with him his knowledge of business, but he has also worked for a variety of companies in construction, facilities maintenance, and auto mechanics.

Jeff resides in St. Anthony with his wife and two children.

Ross Weyer

Ross Weyer joined our team in 2021 after his father, Alan Weyer, announced his retirement. We knew that Ross would be a great fit to continue providing Alan's customers with the same trusted service that they had grown to know and expect from Ferdinand Farmers.

Ross and his wife, Amanda, have three children and reside in rural Dubois County. He is a 2005 graduate of Forest Park High School and holds an associate's degree in business from Vincennes University.



From an early age Ross has been active in the family farm alongside his father and two brothers. He has also been employed as a carpenter. His knowledge in farming and carpentry is beneficial to his insureds' needs.

Ross is eager to assist his customers with their insurance needs of all types—including personal, farm, and commercial.

Amy Dilger

Amy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University. She has always been involved in the community and is an active member of the Santa Claus Volunteer Fire Department, serves as the Chair of the Parish Council for St. Meinrad and Historic St. Boniface Catholic Parishes, and is also a Mental Health First Aid Trainer for the Dubois County Public Health Partnership.

Amy Dilger is a lifelong resident of Spencer County. Prior to her involvement with the company, both her father, Nicholas, and grandfather, Richard, served as agents and directors for 65 years combined. Being raised on their family farm, she understands the needs of our customers.

Amy is able to offer quotes for all types of personal and commercial insurance needs.

Amy and her spouse, Jeremy Schipp, live outside of Ferdinand.

RYAN ERNST

Ryan Ernst is our licensed property claims adjuster and inspector. He joined our team in March of 2022 following the retirement of Ron Gehlhausen. Ryan had worked in the utility industry for over 12 years prior to joining Ferdinand Farmers. Ryan graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2007, and his knowledge and background in construction and agriculture make him a valued member of our staff.

At Ferdinand Farmer’s we have always prided ourselves in being a local company with fast and friendly service. It is not uncommon to see Ryan on-site to adjust a claim for damage the same day it was reported.

Ryan grew up in Celestine but now lives in Ferdinand with his wife, Sara, and their three boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching or watching his kids' sporting events, and hunting.

JOHANNAH TROUTT

Johannah Troutt joined our team in December 2019 as our receptionist. She has prior experience with customer service and enjoys helping people in any way she can.

A graduate of Forest Park High School, Johannah also earned a bachelor’s degree in health service and nutrition from the University of Southern IN. She is a lifelong resident of Dubois County, growing up just outside of Birdseye and now living with her husband, Shane, and two children in Cuzco.

Abby Hagedorn

Abby Hagedorn was new to the Ferdinand Farmers team in June 2020. She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Agriculture Business and Sales. After graduating she performed various duties as an administrative assistant for a local swine and grain producer.

 A native of Spencer County, she now resides near her husband’s family dairy farm in Perry County. Abby and her husband, Jeremy, are the proud parents of three sons.

Abby is likely one of the first people you will talk to when calling our office and is happy to help in any way she can!

Denise started her insurance career in 1991 when she began working at Ferdinand Farmers. She left for a number of years while raising her family, but we are fortunate that she decided to obtain her property & casualty license and join our team again in 2022. Denise's friendly personality is one of the first to greet you when you visit our office. She will be happy to help you with any of your homeowner's or farm needs.

Denise grew up in Perry County but now resides in Dubois County with her husband. Together, they have three sons.

Devin is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. Devin was a full-time respiratory therapist for 5 years before switching to part-time. She has since obtained her property and casualty insurance license. Devin is involved in the day-to-day events at Ferdinand Farmers, so you are likely to come in contact with her while calling or stopping in. She would be happy to help you with your automobile or commercial insurance needs! Devin grew up outside of Ferdinand on her family’s farm, so she is well versed in the needs of our customers. She now resides in Celestine with her husband, Tyler, and their 2 children.
